A Note from the Director …
October, 2011

Fall has officially arrived! And with it came our annual family picnic at the lovely grounds of Goddard Park in East Greenwich. What a great day! The planning by our committee: Cheryl Deacon, Lisa Buckley and Cheryl Szarko was very organized and brought some new and fun things for the students as well as the parents to enjoy. The first annual Dad’s Chili Cook-off was a big hit with 14 entries – and the 1st Place Prize of the LDA Golden Ladle was awarded to Tom Deacon. The side dishes were tasty and the kids had a great time interacting with softball, bobbing for donuts, face painting and the obstacle course. Kudos to all!

With the arrival of the fall season comes the onslaught of workshops for our students. The first is just a few weeks away on October 16th. Please see all the info posted in house on the bulletin board and here on the website’s bulletin board for DMA’s October Convention. As always, please see me with any questions or concerns.

The Helping Hands committee is planning more fun for everyone with the sale of Haunted House tickets. More info on this event can be obtained from Lisa Buckley or see one of our competitive team members for tickets sales.

Rhee is a dance teacher, co-owner of the Gold Studio in MA, a good friend, a past National President of DMA and of NE Chapter 5, he has written a book on dance, he has published Dance Life Magazine and now is the Producer of Dance Life TV. He has received numerous awards for his extensive roles in the dance world. Many dance teachers nationwide look to him for advice, answers to issues, questions, etc. We admire his tenacity, his sincerity and his wisdom. With his permission I support and post his video for all to share.
